Enterprise AI solution provider Cohere announced it is providing its powerful Large Language Model (LLM), Command R+, to Hugging Face’s open-source AI chatbot HuggingChat. Hugging Face Chief Technology Officer Julien Chaumond noted how quickly optimized inference works on Hugging Face infrastructure when using this approach from Cohere’s LLM model.
Command R+ was released a little over one week ago to create smarter business applications. An evolution of Command R, it features improved performance, multilingual support, and advanced retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) capabilities. Since then, Cohere has extended this LLM solution to Amazon Sagemaker and Microsoft Azure.
HuggingChat is Hugging Face’s equivalent of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, providing text summaries, essays, letters and more for users to write with ease. However, unlike its competition, HuggingChat allows users to select which LLM they wish to use from Mixtral 8x7B, Gemma 1.1, Nous Hermes 2 or Mistral-7B as LLM options – now including Command R+.
HuggingChat’s inclusion of Command R+ is significant as it will further distinguish it. HuggingChat currently supports numerous open-source models that rival OpenAI’s GPT4, including one which won the Chatbot Arena competition. Furthermore, as Command R+ is enterprise-centric it could encourage developers to adopt Hugging Face’s technology for business use.
